Eugène van Dijk
After 10 years of working as a contractor and sound engineer with artists such as Franz Ferdinand, Queens of the Stone Age and Michael Franti, Eugène van Dijk has agreed to join the Event Acoustics team.
Having started in 2008 as a protégé of Peter van de Geer, Eugène is a familiar face.
Peter and Eugène designed the new venue for Paradiso Amsterdam (Tolhuistuin, isolation and acoustics). Currently they are working on a number of projects, surpassing their role as advisers to turn our field into a practical, inspiring and understandable playground.
Eugène combines over a decade of experience with a pragmatic approach to acoustic problems; building and designing venues, and developing audio-visual infrastructures for a myriad of locations, events and concert halls.
According to Eugène, we are on the threshold of a complete digital domain in live sound reinforcement. In the coming years, Eugène envisions a smooth integration of digital concepts with current and future projects.
In his work, Eugène always reflects on his time as a sound engineer. He is aware of the importance of a technically sound solution and is committed to ensuring that “the engineers behind the faders will find nothing in their way to stop them from excelling in their job”.
